THE OMBRÉ SEWING TABLE

WHEN COLOUR BECOMES MOVEMENT

This old sewing table had great bones – strong, detailed legs and a classic shape. But it needed a little something.

I reworked it using a gradient of blue tones. From deep Willowbank at the bottom to the soft, cloudy shade of Storm near the top. The colours blend gently into each other, like ink dissolving in water. Quiet, but striking.

Inside, the original drawer is still there – now lined with soft floral paper, just to add a hint of surprise. It’s a piece with history, now carrying a new layer of meaning.

Use it as a writing desk. Or place it in the hallway. Or maybe next to your favourite chair, with a lamp and your current read. Wherever it goes, it holds the room with calm confidence.

This is vintage furniture reimagined – with care, with colour, and with a little imagination.

Some pieces tell stories through shape. This one speaks in colour too.
